Disney’s most over-hyped ride

No matter what Disney park you’ve been to (Excluding HK Disney!) you’ve seen this ride and you’ve seen its huge lines. You’ve probably even waited in that huge line or wasted a fast pass to get on this ride. That ride is Peter Pan’s Flight.

While the Tokyo ride is slightly different and Shanghai Disney has a more updated track, these rides are all pretty much the same and not worth your 1 hour+ wait. I think a lot of it comes down to nostalgia for people as my first visit to a Disney was 4 years ago after years and years of Disney neglect and my girlfriend told me one of the rides that is usually rated the highest  was the Peter Pan dark ride, luckily the weather was bad and it was a quiet-ish day so Our wait was only about 30 minutes when we did it. The only upside to this is it seems pretty well air conditioned on the outside for this wait.

We got on and after 3 minutes of going through a bumpy dark ride it was over. I’d been on plenty of fun dark rides at this point with much smaller wait times at this point, like Haunted mansion so I wondered what was so good about this. She didn’t really have an answer.

This is a ride that needs a serious update and a ride I’ll use as an example is The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. This ride is very similar with a slightly smaller wait time but I feel caters a lot more to the kids in the park and is a lot more colourful, but after visiting Tokyo Disney and riding their version (Named Pooh’s hunny hunt) it shown what rides like this could be like.

In Tokyo Disney the ride is a trackless car with multiple tracks and newer technology making it such a blast to go through multiple times with things like Heffalumps and Woozles appearing in mirrors inside your cart like in the Haunted Mansion and seeing Pooh Bear zig zag through the skies of the attraction as an animatronic was amazing.

I think that’s the problem with a lot of WDW rides compared to others is that because it’s such a busy park all year round taking down rides to update them to newer ones is more difficult than the others as shown with when California Disney changes their Haunted Mansion into a Nightmare Before Christmas theme every year but WDW doesn’t due to how much it’d disrupt the park.

What do you think about this? Do you agree that its time the Peter Pan’s Flight needs a long overdue update in every park? Let me know in the comments!
